The Prime Minister's Youth Chromebook Scheme is now accepting applications, and the whole process runs online. If you are a top-performing student at a government school, you can apply right now on the IBCC portal at pmychromebooks.ibcc.edu.pk. There is no paper form, no office visit, and no fee. You find your record on your board's list, upload a few documents, and submit. This page walks you through every step, in order, so you can finish your application in one sitting without mistakes.

The scheme will hand out 500,000 Chromebooks to students across Pakistan under the Prime Minister's Youth Programme. The devices go to students who scored at the top in the Annual Examinations 2026. If that sounds like you, read on. The one thing to remember before you start: you can apply only once, and the form cannot be changed after you submit it. So check everything twice before the final click.

Quick facts

  • Total Chromebooks: 500,000, distributed across all provinces and regions
  • Who runs it: Prime Minister's Youth Programme, with applications handled by the IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen)
  • Where to apply: the official portal, pmychromebooks.ibcc.edu.pk — online only
  • Who can apply: top-performing students of government and public schools only
  • Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan: Grade 9 (SSC-I) toppers, Annual Exams 2026
  • AJK, Islamabad (ICT), Gilgit-Baltistan: Grade 9 (SSC-I) and Grade 10 (SSC-II) toppers
  • Private school students: not eligible under this scheme
  • Applications per student: one only — and it cannot be edited later
  • Cost: free. Anyone asking for money to "process" your application is running a scam

Who can apply

Eligibility is narrower than most people expect, so check this part first. Your education board sends IBCC a list of its top-performing students from the Annual Examinations 2026, and only students on that list can complete an application. For the Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan boards, the list covers Grade 9 (SSC-I) students. For the AJK, Islamabad Capital Territory and Gilgit-Baltistan boards, both Grade 9 and Grade 10 (SSC-II) students are included.

You also have to be enrolled in a government or public school. Students at private schools are not covered, even if their marks are high. There is no separate test and no interview. Your board exam marks decide everything, which is why the portal simply looks up the record your board already sent.

Want the bigger picture first — how the 500,000 devices are divided, the quotas for science and arts students, and the background of the scheme? Our sister guide at chromebook-scheme.online covers the scheme itself in detail. This page stays focused on one thing: getting your application submitted correctly.

How to apply, step by step

Keep your B-Form or CNIC, your roll number and your documents ready before you open the portal. The full application takes about ten minutes if everything is at hand.

Step 1: Open the official portal and select your board

Go to pmychromebooks.ibcc.edu.pk and pick your education board from the list — the board that conducted your exam. Pick carefully. The portal checks your details against that board's list, so the wrong board means your record will not show up.

Step 2: Enter your number and date of birth

Type your CNIC or B-Form number, your roll number, or your registration number. Use numbers only, with no dashes or spaces. Then add your date of birth exactly as it appears in your board records.

Step 3: Click "Find my record"

The portal searches the list your board sent to IBCC. When it finds you, your name, school and marks appear on screen automatically. You do not type these in yourself, which removes most of the usual form-filling errors.

Step 4: Check your details

Read everything on screen. Is the name spelled the way it is on your B-Form? Is the school right? Are the marks the ones you actually scored? If something looks wrong, do not submit — talk to your school or board first, because you cannot fix the form after submission.

Step 5: Upload your documents

Upload clear scans of your photograph, your mark sheet, your attested B-Form or CNIC copy, and an attested copy of your father's or guardian's CNIC. Every file must be 300 KB or smaller. Blurry or cut-off scans are the most common reason applications get stuck, so zoom in and check each file before uploading.

Step 6: Submit and save your slip

Submit the application. The portal gives you a reference number and an application slip. Download the slip and keep it safe — screenshot it, save it on a phone, print a copy if you can. That reference number is your proof of application and the key to every follow-up question later.

Documents you need

You need four things, and each file must be 300 KB or smaller:

  • Recent colour photograph — front-facing, plain background, JPG or PNG only
  • Mark sheet / result card — your SSC-I (9th class) or SSC-II (10th class) result, JPG, PNG or PDF
  • Your B-Form or CNIC copy — attested, JPG, PNG or PDF
  • Father's or guardian's CNIC copy — attested, JPG, PNG or PDF

Attested simply means a gazetted officer or authorised official has stamped and signed the copy to confirm it matches the original. Your school office can usually point you to the nearest option. If your scans are too large, photograph them again in good light instead of shrinking them until the text turns to mush — the details have to stay readable.

Common problems, quick fixes

The portal says my record is not found. This is the most common hiccup, and it is usually fixable. Try a different number — your roll number instead of your CNIC or B-Form number. Make sure you typed numbers only, without dashes. Check that the date of birth matches your board record, not what is written on a different document. And confirm you selected the right board. If none of that works, your board may not have sent or uploaded your name yet, so contact your school or board office.

I made a mistake and already submitted. The form cannot be edited after submission, and wrong information can cancel your allocation. That is exactly why the check-your-details step matters so much. If the mistake is serious, go through your school or board — they are the channel the scheme itself uses for corrections and complaints.

Someone offered to apply for me for a fee. Say no. Applying is free, takes minutes, and this guide covers the whole process. Never hand your CNIC or B-Form details to agents or random pages on social media. The only real portal is the .edu.pk address above.

After you apply

Once applications close, boards finalise the merit lists. Each selected student's Chromebook gets its serial number linked to their name, and the device is couriered directly to the student's home. Committees at board and provincial level handle complaints, including questions about merit lists, registration verification and non-delivery. Keep your application slip and reference number until your Chromebook is in your hands.

Ready? Open the official IBCC application portal, find your record, and apply once — carefully. Good luck, and congratulations on the marks that got you here.
